A message from General Grand ChapterThe General Grand Chapter is happy to join with the General Grand Council and Grand Encampment in the 21st Century York Rite Odyssey. It is hoped all Grand Chapters will support this unified effort to promote membership and retain current members. Chapters of Royal Arch Masons confer the Mark Masters Degree, Past Master Degree, Most Excellent Master Degree, and the Royal Arch Degree. While all four degrees are important and teach lessons of Masonry, the Royal Arch Degree has always been considered more august, sublime and important than those which precede it. Membership development should be a major priority of each Grand Chapter and all should work to promote innovative ways of making all Master Masons aware of Capitular Masonry and more particularly the York Rite of Freemasonry. A message from General Grand Council The 21st Century York Rite Odyssey Program is a joint effort of the York Rite. It is a beautiful design to enhance your membership efforts. The designs are on the trestleboard. The tools are in place. You, the leaders of Blue Lodge & York Rite Masonry are responsible to put them into action.
Remember, Plans without action are just dreams. Action without plans just pass the time. Plans with Action will accomplish the goal. General Grand Recorder: |
A message from Grand Encampment Each of us has a responsibility for membership development and preserving our Masonic Christian heritage. Membership retention and growth will occur only when we meet on the level and face to face. There is no substitute for integrity and personal contact. Tools and techniques to assist you in your efforts have been developed by the Grand Encampment Membership Committee. Articles on leadership and growth strategies have been published in the Knight Templar Magazine. Combined York Rite Conferences offer additional opportunities. Contact the Grand Recorder for 21st Century York Rite Odyssey pins and certificates. Take the lead, be out front, remember; If it is to be, it's up to me! Grand Recorder: |

Chapter, Council, and Commandery This pamphlet is intended to provide a brief overview of the 21st Century York Rite Odyssey Program. Building from the success of the Templary 2000 Crusade, Grand Master William Jackson Jones collaborated with the leadership of the General Grand Council and the General Grand Chapter to establish a joint membership venture that would benefit all three York Rite Bodies. The "Odyssey" is the result of that effort and all York Rite Bodies are encouraged to work together for their mutual benefit. York Rite cooperation is the formula for success. Our common goal is to achieve no net losses! To do so requires high growth and retention goals to offset the losses we cannot avoid. A new mind set is needed which is to break even or better! Masonic unity is essential. By leveraging the assets of all three York Rite Bodies, we create a win-win-win collaboration which builds a stronger infra-structure for membership growth and retention. It also permits a broader coverage of information and communication. The 21st Century York Rite Odyssey was created to maintain and improve the momentum of previous membership efforts. The Templary 2000 Crusade for example yielded excellent results. It established new recognition programs. New tools and techniques were developed to build and strengthen membership programs. Most importantly, it created common goals and expectations of membership growth and retention. A set of helpful hints is included in this pamphlet to aid in the development of local, state, regional, and national membership programs. Additional resource materials are available from the Grand Secretaries of the three bodies, and you are encouraged to use them. Each of us has a responsibility for membership and preserving our Masonic heritage.
